Winter Squash- North Georgia Candy RoasterWinter S

Planted in late spring around November in Melbourne, the plant took off like a rocket! Only had the space to accommodate 1 plant, which sprawled across my grassy backyard with minor moving and pruning. My soil is dense clay, and I use an organic no-dig method of growing all my veggies. The primary vine grew to about 10 metres, with a secondary vine growing about 5 metres. I harvested 9 fully grown pumpkins, and one smaller green pumpkin. The total harvest of fully grown pumpkins was around 50kgs! The largest pumpkin was 8kgs and the average weight was about 5.3 kgs! All harvested at once around mid-March. The taste is rich and slightly sweet, kind of like a butternut. Haven't tested the storage ability but I reckon they'll last at least 6 months, if not longer, when properly cured. Will definitely grow this again! :)
