Description

'Orach- Fire Red' seeds

Atriplex hortensis

  • Also known as "Mountain Spinach"
  • Heat tolerant
  • Stunning leaf colour

Ancient leaf vegetable grown as a substitute to spinach due to its similar flavour. Leaves are dark purple/red and can be eaten fresh or cooked like spinach. Great for stir-fry. Harvest the whole plant when 30cm high or harvest leaves as required. Heat tolerant and slow to bolt during warm periods. Tolerant of poor soil conditions. Great addition to fresh salads. Seeds are also edible, either ground and mixed with flour or added to breads or cereals.  Also known as "Mountain Spinach" & "French Spinach".
