Ratings & Reviews

Perilla- Green

I wrote a review in October last year when I grew this for the first time. Well it grew well, we added to salads often, it tastes very distinctive. The big plus is that this year I have a carpet of seedlings coming up in the bed where I had let the Perilla flower and go to seed. So this year I have ordered Red Perilla seeds and they have germinated well.

Great germination from the seeds i received

I was worried after reading other reviews that this would be difficult but i have much more stubborn seeds than these Perilla. As advised by the seedcollection I sowed as soon as they arrived 3/9, germinated 19/9 and I have now begun pricking out on 2/10 from 78 seedlings (more than i have space for), from a standard packet of 100 seeds. Looking forward to tasting greens later on. Maybe i will order some red Perilla too. Hard to give a star rating on taste because i have no adukt plants yet, but on viability it can have 4*

low germination. bugs in northern nsw love them!

about 6 in the packet germinated. of these only one made it. 4 died before they got away and 1 got totally decimated by bugs. the one that survived has an amazing aroma - so hopefully I can get some seeds from it and expand my crop.

Great perilla

Took a while to germinate but when it did, it was great!
